Volunteer with the Friends of Hartwood

There is always plenty to do at the park to keep it looking at its best. Every hour makes a difference. Consider joining the Friends of Hartwood in their efforts to maintain the beauty and the original look of this beautiful estate and park. Join us in the planting of the flower gardens in the spring, help spruce up the stable complex buildings, or help decorate the mansion for Christmas.

The Hartwood Tudor Rose
The plaster casting is a miniature of a Tudor rose pattern which adorns the ceiling of the cottage wing of the mansion at Hartwood Acres. The rose was hand carved by Friends of Hartwood Board Member, Amber Bierkan. The carving was then transformed into a mold by master plasterer Dan McClelland, an artisan who reconstructed Hartwood’s Great Room ceiling after its collapse, in August of 2005.

Available at the gift shop at the mansion:
$30 for ornament mounted on the tile and $20 for hanging ornament (click here for photos)
Proceeds benefit the preservation of Hartwood Acres - limited number available.

Hartwood Trails
Peter Bergman, Hampton High School student and member of Boy Scout Troop 17, undertook a project to label the 35 miles of trails in the park. Click here to read more and download his map.
